At The Longholme we know that our team are crucial to the success of our café. Although we’re only a small operation we have exacting standards and like to make sure the customers are being looked after. We have 2 sides to our team, to see how you might fit in take a look below at the different roles. As a seasonal business, when the suns out, we need a larger workforce! So we recruit junior staff to assist our core team in delivering our products and services.These roles are based on weekend working and working during study breaks. Some duties include running food and drinks to tables, clearing tables and washing up. We recruit for these positions in February for summer positions and then again in September for winter positions.
Hours are as required, We ask that our casual staff be available on both Saturdays and Sunday, but ideally we only schedule one day to allow for rest.
Rotas are published weekly. Approximate pay is in line with government minimum wage + your share of tips and gratuities.
Candidates interested in this position should have an interest working with other people, carry a smile with them and be ready to learn. This is a starter position aimed and people with little to no experience, so let your personality shine!

Our casual team are the oil in our engine, helping us at the busiest of times and really get the café in full swing. As a casual staff member, you have the flexibility to work on a part time or full time basis, to suit your studies or other commitments. Generally, this role covers 1-3 days a week in high season. If you’re a local student keen to learn more about the industry, this is the perfect role for you!
As a permanent staff member, you will be working in a full-time capacity with the ‘core team’ & the owners. Usually working 5/7 days you may be expected to work in all areas of the business. Our permanent staff work with us closely to improve our service, brainstorm our events ideas and generally make The Longholme a better place to be for everyone, these people are the hospitality managers of the future, with experience and the right attention to detail.
